Leader of the Opposition John Robertson last week appointed Mick Veitch MLC as Shadow Minister for Trade and Investment, Shadow Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Services and Shadow Minister for Regional and Rural Affairs.
"Mick has always been a proud advocate for regional NSW and I have no doubt he will bring a lot to the shadow cabinet table," said Mr Robertson.
"Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services and Regional and Rural Affairs are important portfolios that will see Mick take on Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner.
"I am confident that Mick is up to the challenge."
Mr Veitch welcomed the announcement.
"I am honoured to accept this position but I am also very aware we have a lot of work to do to win back the trust of the people of NSW," he said.
"Labor was sent a powerful message at the election and it certainly wasn\'t lost on me.
"My first job is to get out there and listen to people in Country NSW.
"I want to hear direct from families and businesses in the regions about what they want from Labor," said Mr Veitch.
Mr Veitch\'s previous parliamentary roles have included Deputy Government Whip and Parliamentary Secretary assisting the Minister for Primary Industries and Rural Affairs.
